Anthony Koomson is Senior Director for Public Resources Development for Food for the Hungry (FH) and is based out of FH’s Washington DC Service Center. In his role, Anthony is responsible for acquisition and management of all public food and non-food assistance grants and resources. Anthony provides strategic and tactical leadership to FH’s field offices, with a special emphasis on USAID, Food for Peace, Feed the Future, and USDA Food for Programs and World Food Programs. Anthony joined FH in September 2010 as the Deputy Regional Director for Africa located in Kigali, Rwanda, and more recently served as FH’s Director of Food Security and Livelihoods based in Washington. Previous to that, Anthony served in various roles in a number of agencies, such as Title II program manager at CRS, chief of party for consortium for South Africa Food Emergency (CSAFE) funded by USAID/FFP in Zimbabwe with World Vision, and country director for IMC in Uganda. Anthony has an MPP, Public Policy from American University, an MA, International Development from Ohio University, and a BS in Biochemistry, Nutrition, and Food Science from the University of Ghana.
