Since InsideNGO’s founding almost 40 years ago, we have advanced the belief that operational excellence is essential to delivering and sustaining the impact of international NGOs. Appreciation of the unique value that operational expertise brings to enable and support effective programs and overall organizational strategy has grown among our members, as well as funders and partners within the international development community.
Our Operations Advocacy extends beyond the development community into the overall nonprofit sector within the U.S. Building on the growing recognition that investments in operational talent, resources, and infrastructure is essential to organizational success, for example, InsideNGO has worked with sector experts to reframe the dialogue on indirect costs and the nonprofit overhead myth.
We also understand that operational excellence requires not only qualified and committed staff to develop and execute compliant systems and procedures but also depends on a conducive regulatory environment that allows NGO professionals to work effectively and efficiently toward meaningful development goals while being good stewards of their funding.
Regulatory Advocacy is central to InsideNGO’s core mission. We give voice to issues articulated by members and represent their views and priorities to key U.S. funders and regulators on regulatory policy formulation and implementation. While our regulatory advocacy efforts have necessarily concentrated on agencies of the US Government because of the sizeable funding our members receive from them, our mandate is broad and not limited only to USG agencies.
