Isaac Malonza is the regional director for Jhpiego, an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins University, and is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of public health programs in the Eastern Africa Region. Dr. Malonza is a Kenyan physician specializing in clinical epidemiology and international health. He has 22 years of experience in designing, implementing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating national health programs in Africa and six years of experience in microbicide research. Formerly, Dr. Malonza served as the regional director for the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM) responsible for microbicide research in Africa and India. He also worked for four years in Geneva, Switzerland, for the World Health Organization (WHO), as the medical officer responsible for research and development of microbicides for prevention of HIV and STIs.
