Shannon Meehan has worked in conflict areas and complex emergencies in the humanitarian field for more than 25 years, working in Afghanistan, Senegal, Guinea, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Sudan, the DR Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, Somalia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq. Shannon has served in many positions throughout her career: country director, director of operations, administrative and finance officer, and field officer. An expert on field operations, Shannon has brought this expertise into the training room for international audiences that include humanitarian workers, government officials, multi-national military staff, and community leaders. She most recently served as the country director for the United States Peace Corps in Burkina Faso. In addition to her work with InsideNGO, Shannon is an international development consultant focusing on operations and humanitarian interventions. Her humanitarian work was highlighted in the book Those Who Dare by Katherine Martin (2004).
