Sophia Rakowsky

Manager, Customer and Information

Summary

Sophia Rakowsky joined InsideNGO in March 2007 and today serves as customer and information manager. In this role, she constantly strives to improve customer, member, and staff usability of InsideNGO’s event registration system, member and customer database, and Member Community. In addition, she manages the event registration and customer service team and serves as a bridge between InsideNGO’s membership, member services, accounting, and learning services teams. Sophia is a skilled operations generalist with the proven ability to implement effective policies and procedures, build and manage successful teams, and find efficiencies. Before joining InsideNGO, she provided planning and business development services to an international transportation consulting firm and supported an EPA-funded environmental initiative in partnership with the New York City Mayor’s Office. Sophia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California San Diego and earned her Master of Urban Planning from NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

What is your favorite place you’ve been to, and where do you want to go next?

My favorite place I’ve been is Santorini, Greece. Next I’d like to sleep under the northern lights in Iceland

If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

That’s an impossible question! There are just too many delicious cuisines and restaurants to pick just one.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Or dessert in general?

My daughter has food allergies so my favorite dessert is anything that she can share and enjoy.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?

My #1 hobby is trying to raise healthy and happy kids who can find their passion and be successful in life. It’s so awesome watching them grow and learn new things daily.
