Surya Sayed-Ganguly started his service on the InsideNGO board in 2015, after being a member, speaker, and panelist and serving on advisory councils since 2008. In 2014, Surya led a team of 28 knowledge workers partnering with Microsoft to win the InsideNGO Excellence award for designing and implementing a collaboration, innovation, and impact platform for the Asia Foundation’s staff of 1000. Prior to serving in the CIO role at the Asia Foundation, and at the NonProfit Organizations’ Knowledge Initiative, he led the infrastructure consulting practice at NPower New York. Surya has worked at McKinsey & Co., Microsoft, Great-West Life, and as Founder/CTO of a security software startup acquired by McAfee, Inc. Surya has spoken at the Global Health Conference, the Nonprofit Technology Conference, InsideNGO Annual Conference, and the Technology Affinity Group on topics including civil legal remedy using technology, governance models for cloud-based knowledge, designing global health systems that track concrete health outcomes, and using affordable technology in rural schools to enhance learning. He also serves on the board of directors at Powering Potential. Surya studied mathematics at Whitman College for a B.A. and public interest law at New York University for a J.D.
